Here at Facelet, we’ve been long time fans of IRCE and have been attending since 2012 with different companies. June of 2016 was our first time attending IRCE as Facelet, and it was a great experience.

If you’re not familiar with IRCE, it’s one of the top ecommerce conference and trade shows in the world. Being on the main floor with the top solution providers and strategists is exhilarating. There are vendors that supply marketing, fulfillment, ecommerce platforms and new technologies. The main floor is incredibly international, so there are always enlightening conversations to be had.

Though we were busy setting up our booth and manning it, we did have time to swoop over to some other booths and a couple talks. When it comes to new ecommerce trends, the takeaway that hit home closest for us at Facelet is the suggestion to think beyond omnichannel. It’s time to adopt more of a distributed channel mentality. Retailers need to broaden their efforts and be everywhere that their customers are, not only in the online spheres and brick-and-mortar spaces they own but to also indirectly, enabling seamless selling through every possible interaction.

“The customer is in control” is a belief of ours that was really solidified during IRCE 16. Retailers who deliver as much product content as possible put decision-making in customers’ hands.

For any exhibitor at IRCE, the best part is interacting with retailers on the floor. We spoke to employees of big brands and small business owners. We were able to witness exactly how they react to the Facelet platform and hear what unique uses they came up with for their own purposes.

Listening to retailers on the main floor is invaluable. It means that we walk away with a better understanding of how our customers can use our product.

We’ve already bought our booth for IRCE 17! Shout out from the future in boothe #253. Because IRCE is such a great place to get feedback on your product from wildly different viewpoints, we know that as we adapt and grow, IRCE will only be a more invaluable experience. Where else can you interface with big brand reps, marketers, CEOs, and owners of corner stores? No where.

See you next year,

The Facelet Team
